  • NBI’s Estate Planner’s Playbook: Ann O’Hara presented on the topic of marital trusts in an estate plan, discussing Qualified Terminable Interest Trusts (QTIP), Qualified Domestic Trusts (QDOT), and charitable giving.
  • NBI Webinar: Ann O’Hara presented on managing and transferring a family business in an estate plan, including the use of trusts for lifetime transfers of business interests and structuring buy-sell agreements.
  • NBI Webinar: Ann O’Hara presented on the structure and uses of grantor trusts, such as a Spousal Lifetime Access Trust (SLAT), a Grantor Retained Annuity Trust, and an Intentionally Defective Grantor Trust.
  • NBI Webinar: Ann O’Hara presented on What’s New in Estate Planning for large estates and complex assets, including the impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (“OBBBA”) on estate planning.

2022

  • Hamilton County Leadership Academy sponsored its County & Municipal Government Day on September 8, 2022. Ann O’Hara presented on “Local Government 101” from 9:25–10:15 am at Noblesville City Hall, Noblesville, Indiana.
  • Ann O’Hara presented a national 1-hour NBI webcam event titled “Estate Planning for Non-Traditional Families” on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, from 2:00–3:00 pm.
  • Ann O’Hara was one of the presenters for an NBI Indiana live webcam event titled “Indiana Trust Guide,” held October 31, 2022. Ms. O’Hara spoke on “Other Unique Trust Structures of Note” and “Taxation and Tax Consequences of Trust” from 1:15–2:30 pm.
